Our client are a NERS-accredited Independent Connections Provider (ICP) delivering expert high-voltage electrical and civil engineering solutions. They specialise in Contestable Works up to 132kV, with capability to deliver projects on National Grid infrastructure up to 400kV. They are currently working on a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project and are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Construction Supervisor to oversee and coordinate on-site delivery. The Role
As an Electrical Site Construction Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising electrical installation works (LV/HV) on-site, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure delivery is “right first time.”
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate LV/HV electrical installation works.
- Oversee installation of switchgear, transformers, earthing, ducting, protection systems, and wiring.
- Interpret and deliver works to electrical drawings and DNO specifications (e.g., G81).
- Manage and inspect above and below-ground installations.
- Support electrical testing, commissioning, and quality checks.
- Review RAMS and subcontractor documentation, ensuring compliance with scope of works.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with NRSWA Section 50, NJUG guidelines, CDM regulations, HSG47, and health & safety standards.
What We're Looking For
- 5 years' experience in LV/HV electrical installations (HV essential).
- Strong background with switchgear, transformers, substations, and generators.
- Knowledge of DNO standards, G81 specifications, and industry best practices.
- Experience supervising subcontractors on technical electrical site works.
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation (CDM, HSG47, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with works up to 132kV (preferred).
- Familiarity with DNO authorisations and SAP processes (desirable).
