What You'll Be Doing · Carry out site surveys, reports and write Lift Plans. · Ensure correct selection and usage of lifting equipment and accessories. · Carry out / assist and supervise site installations and dismantles · Responsible for the execution and safety of lifting operations in accordance with codes of practice such as LOLER 1998 and guidance such as BS 7121 · Plan and supervise lifting operations as an Appointed Person and able to relay this to the lifting team in a clear and concise manner via the relevant documentation and forms of instruction · Ensure that comprehensive lift plans that include risk assessments, method statements, and selection of appropriate equipment have been prepared and approved and that all relevant personnel have been briefed prior to the commencement of any lifting operations. · Ensure lifting equipment and lifting accessory registers are maintained. · Ensure statutory thorough examinations are kept up to date as required. · Ensure all lifting accessories have been examined, tested, certified and correctly stored, arranging and coordinating said inspections when they are required. · Liaise with clients in all aspects of site requirements. · Liaise with the design, temporary works and safety team where required when planning lifting operations. · Ensure the Company complies with all health and safety regulations. · Mentor and ensure the development of lifting team personnel, give guidance to less experienced Appointed Persons including reviewing of their lift plans for suitability. What We’re Looking For The following qualities/experience are essential: • A valid Appointed Person CPCS Qualification (Blue Card) • Extensive knowledge of lifting with Crawler Crane / Piling Equipment • Appropriate CSCS Card • Clear customer focus • Knowledge of plant / asset hire industry • Knowledge of Health and Safety Management The following qualities/experience are desirable: • Controlling lifting operations using the following cranes and piling rigs Liebherr, Kobelco, Sennebogen, Bauer, Casagrande experience would be advantageous • Previous management experience in a similar sector / environment • A valid security clearance or the ability to obtain it
