We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the review, negotiation, and management of client terms of business and commercial agreements. This role plays a critical part in protecting the company's commercial interests while enabling efficient and compliant client onboarding and ongoing relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, assess, and negotiate clients' terms of business, contracts, and commercial agreements to ensure alignment with company policies and risk appetite.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual, legal, and commercial risks, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Lead negotiations with clients on key contractual terms including liability, indemnities, payment terms, termination, confidentiality, and intellectual property.
- Draft, amend, and approve contractual language, including schedules, variations, and amendments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on contractual matters, providing clear guidance and practical solutions.
- Collaborate closely with sales, legal, finance, and operational teams to support deal execution and client onboarding.
- Maintain contract records and ensure executed agreements are stored and tracked in accordance with internal governance requirements.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of standard contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines.
- Monitor contract compliance and manage contract renewals, variations, and terminations as required.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a contracts management, commercial contracts, or similar role.
- Strong experience reviewing and negotiating client terms of business and commercial agreements.
- Excellent understanding of contractual risk, commercial terms, and negotiation strategies.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly sales and legal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in law, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., contract management or legal qualifications) is desirable but not essential.
