The PLS Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of AE Live’s contract with the Premier League from Olympia, London. This role ensures a smooth transition from IMG at Stockley Park to PLS at Olympia and serves as the central coordination point for staff, freelancers, and client stakeholders. They will ensure personnel are fully briefed, trained, and equipped to meet all technical and operational requirements, maintaining AE’s high standards across every production.

The PLS Supervisor will work closely with the Operations team to schedule crew from AE’s UK Operator pool and freelance roster for live matchdays and studio programming. They will also provide leadership, support, and operational oversight to guarantee consistent delivery and quality.

Schedule and place of work

Start date or transition into PLS Supervisor role is from March and your designated place of work is Olympia. The exact date in migrating to this location is yet to be determined and all supervisor work on this project prior to the install and full move to Olympia will be from AE Campus and Stockley Park. The typical work schedule will be Thursday to Monday on site, with Tuesday and Wednesday as designated off days but flexibility is required due to the nature of fixtures falling midweek on multiple match weeks. Dark weeks/weekends during the season involving FA Cup or International fixtures will normally be designated as off periods. During a standard off-season in June and July, the Supervisor is required to work three days per week in the office and two days from home, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational & Technical Leadership: Learn and subsequently take a key role in AE’s new graphics operational delivery by gaining a full technical understanding of AE’s new software stack designed to drive an entirely new semi-automated workflow. Liaise closely across all departments to ensure all operational requirements are captured, tested and deployed successfully. Responsible for the workflow across Core & Channel productions in PLS. Responsible for post-production graphics within the new PLS infrastructure. Supervise operator preparation and live shows to ensure accurate, high-quality and seamless broadcast delivery. Oversee the Media Assets process during both transfer windows, ensuring all assets are delivered to PLS. Must have an Operational understanding of all roles undertaken at PLS and the ability to work unsupervised. Take the lead in scheduling staff to meet AE’s contractual obligations in conjunction with the Operations team. Communicate staff/contractor operational allocations to the client. Set clear professional standards, acting as a role model for AE behaviour and work expectations.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary AE point of contact on-site at Olympia, liaising with the client and AE’s UK office in Hemel Hempstead. Communicate effectively regarding operational feedback, design or software needs, and project requirements. Host a weekly meeting with PLS Management to discuss any onscreen issues and plan effectively for any updates that are required. Liaise with Project Manager and Production team internally to ensure all updates are managed effectively.
  • Training & Development: Work closely with the Training Manager to ensure staff receive the necessary training and guidance to fulfil all PLS roles successfully.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Deliver a daily post-TX report to the client, highlighting any issues that occurred and the process to rectifying them. Deliver a weekly operational report to the Project Manager. Provide ongoing updates to the Operations team regarding performance, workflow, and operational developments.
  • Corporate responsibilities: Always represent AE Live in a professional manner, ensuring appropriate dress code and professional conduct, be it offsite at an OB, or within the office environment. Always show respect for your work colleagues, clients and suppliers. Comply with company policies, e.g. mobile phone and motor policies, employment policies such as observing core work hours, leave entitlements, expense policies and online training. Adhere to all health and safety requirements both at the office and offsite. Respect the company equipment and report any technical issues or damage to the appropriate team in the office. Timely submission of your company expenses. Weekly submission of time tracking hours.
