We are a local, family‑run and well‑established company, founded in 1965, who have continued to provide full 24‑hour, 365 days a year support to businesses throughout the Midlands, South West and South Wales.

The candidate should be happy to work autonomously and be committed to working safely to meet all health and safety and statutory requirements.
The Role
- You will turn accepted sales into installation‑ready projects for our engineering teams across fire alarm and security systems.
- You will own the design pack, the kit, the panel programming, the certification chain and the customer’s project handover pack — start to finish.
- Engineers will rely on you to arrive on site with everything they need: A1 drawings, loop and zone schedules, pre‑programmed panels, labelled kit, RAMS and a clear cause‑and‑effect.
- You’ll support them through the install, sign off the BS 5839‑1 and NSI certificates, and produce the final pack the customer keeps for their compliance records.
What You’ll Do
- Produce full design packs and A1 drawings for fire and security installation projects.
- Pre‑programme panels and prepare kit packs ready for engineers to install.
- Issue the full certification chain — BS 5839‑1 design, installation, commissioning, acceptance and verification (under BAFE SP203‑1), and the equivalent NSI certificates for security.
- Support our install engineers through every project — first point of contact for technical queries, variations and witness testing.
- Build and deliver the formal Project Handover Pack to the customer for every project.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experienced fire alarm and/or security systems designer or engineers ready to step into a design and compliance role.
- Strong working knowledge of BS 5839‑1, BAFE SP203‑1, PD 6662, NSI Codes of Practice and the relevant European standards.
- Hands‑on programming experience across major fire and security platforms — Advanced, Hochiki, Apollo, Texecom, Galaxy, Paxton, Hikvision.
- Proficient with AutoCAD or equivalent design software.
- Methodical, detail‑focused and confident communicating with clients, engineers and manufacturers.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary reviewed annually.
- Cheltenham‑based role at our Bamfurlong head office, with site visits across our customer base.
- Stable, growing, family‑owned business with low staff turnover and a strong reputation.
- Real ownership of the design and compliance function, with the visibility and influence that goes with it.
