What You'll Do
- Process bookkeeping records and maintain accurate financial information for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies using accounting software
- Assist with preparing quarterly VAT returns, draft accounts, and other financial reports under the guidance of experienced accountants
- Support payroll processing, including weekly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls, pension auto-enrolment, and CIS returns
- Communicate with clients to obtain financial information, resolve queries, and provide excellent customer service
- Work closely with the accounts team on a variety of administrative and ad-hoc tasks while developing practical accountancy skills through on-the-job training
Training Outcome
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a permanent role as an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant, with opportunities to progress to Senior Accountant as experience and professional qualifications are gained. The successful candidate may also receive support to continue studying towards higher-level accounting qualifications, building a long-term career within the practice.
