About Adyton
Adyton builds the Adyton Operations Kit (AOK)—a mobile‑first product suite that unifies communications, logistics, personnel readiness, and mission coordination for defense organizations. Our mission is to make the people who protect us more resilient, ready and responsive.
We believe in the power of technology to safeguard strong, resilient alliances. We envision a digital operational fabric that delivers a frictionless experience for the organizations that protect our societies. It seamlessly integrates partners and allies, enabling them to collaborate and operate with a velocity that outpaces our adversaries.
Role Summary
As Adyton’s first product designer, you’ll report directly to our Head of Product, Andrew, and play a critical role in shaping the future of how military organizations communicate, collaborate, and operate. Our platform is live and trusted, now we’re scaling it to be more powerful and intuitive.
We are seeking an experienced Founding Product Designer who thrives on complex problem spaces and high‑stakes outcomes. You will own end‑to‑end design for mobile and web SaaS products, taking features from 0→1 and iterating thoughtfully to drive measurable user impact. The role requires deep UX instincts, a high‑ownership mindset, and clear, async‑native communication.
As the founding designer, you will help establish Adyton’s design vision, culture, and practices. This role comes with meaningful equity and the opportunity to define the design function from day one.
What You’ll DoDesign Craft
- Translate ambiguous problem statements into clear user flows, wireframes, and polished UI.
- Balance clarity and usability with technical and security constraints inherent to tactical environments.
- Shape and evolve AOK’s design system, ensuring coherence across the product suite.
Ownership & Delivery
- Drive product design from ideation through MVP, then iterate using qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Proactively surface design opportunities and lead design initiatives without waiting for perfect specs.
- Advocate for design and user‑centered outcomes in roadmap and prioritization discussions.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and GTM to align on problem definition, scope, and success criteria.
- Communicate ideas and rationale through clear writing, sketches, and prototypes that work in an async‑first culture.
- Conduct user research and field studies, occasionally on‑site with military units.
What You’ll Bring
- Significant experience designing and shipping complex, user-facing software (ideally 5+ years in B2B2C, B2B SaaS, messaging, social media, collaboration tools or other high-utility domains).
- Demonstrated end‑to‑end design thinking: shipment of 0→1 features and iterative improvements.
- Strong UX instincts that prioritize clarity, flow, and measurable user value over surface polish alone.
- High ownership mindset: self‑directed, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working through ambiguity.
- Async‑native communication skills and fluency with Figma (or equivalent) plus rapid‑prototyping tools.
- Bonus: Interest or experience in defense, public‑sector, secure/offline environments, or regulated domains.
- Unlimited PTO
- 401(k) plan
- Monthly work‑from‑home stipend
- Monthly “pro pay” stipend (e.g., gym membership, wellness)
- Meaningful equity and the opportunity to shape Adyton’s product design from the ground up
