Having increased the scope and reach of our service to meet demand, underpinned by income growth and technology investments, we are now looking for a CEO ready to move our new 2026 strategy forward. This will feature developing more efficient processes for our barristers and clients, using technology effectively to help more clients, and growing our voice as an evidence‑backed leader in the wider conversation around access to justice.

Advocate is a national charity providing access to justice to those who cannot afford it. We match barristers who donate their time and expertise to give free legal help to people in need. We now partner with over 5,000 volunteer barristers and manage circa 6,000 applications for our help across all courts and tribunals in England and Wales.
Person Specification
We are looking for a strategic, ambitious leader with proven experience of leadership, engagement, strategy development and delivery. You will be capable of nurturing strategic partnerships across the Bar, access to justice space and government, leveraging technology for organisational impact and enabling a small national team to deliver. You should be able to demonstrate awareness of the legal and charity operating landscapes in which Advocate works.
