Our client, Monster Energy, is one of the most iconic and disruptive brands in global beverages. From its unmistakable brand DNA to its relentless commercial ambition, Monster continues to redefine what leadership looks like in the energy drinks category.
We’re representing Monster Energy in the search for a Head of Commercial Strategy to join their Commercial & Strategic Development function across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Oceania and the South Pacific (EMEAO).
About Monster Energy
Monster Energy Company is a NASDAQ-listed business and the owner of one of the world’s most recognised energy drink portfolios. Founded in 2002 and established in the UK & Ireland in 2008, Monster now operates across approximately 141 countries and territories, employing more than 3,600 people globally. The EMEAO region alone delivers over €3.5bn in annual value sales and continues to be a major growth engine for the business. Monster’s brand is bold, aggressive, dark, fun and unapologetically different — and its people are expected to match that edge.
The opportunity
This Commercial Strategy Director role sits at the heart of Monster’s newly streamlined 2026 Commercial Strategy & Insights structure and reports directly into the VP Commercial Strategy & Insights. The position plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping the commercial direction of the EMEAO region, bringing together commercial planning, shopper insights, revenue growth, and financial strategy into one cohesive, high-impact agenda. You’ll lead a small senior team, work cross-functionally with Finance, Portfolio Strategy, Commercial Innovation and regional Business Development, and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership across markets.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Commercial strategy & value creation: Defining and clarifying market segmentations, channel roles and market types across EMEAO; integrating segmentation and shopper insights to shape in-store execution, assortment, visibility, pricing and promotional strategy; driving long-term platform and portfolio profitability in close partnership with Finance and regional teams.
- Leadership & capability building: Leading and developing the Commercial Planning Manager and Shopper Insights Manager; elevating organisational capability in price architecture, promotional effectiveness and revenue-focused decision making; supporting the transition from volume-led thinking to sustainable revenue and value growth.
- Cross-functional influence: Partnering with regional commercial teams to support market engagement and, where needed, bottler negotiations; contributing to the creation of an EMEAO best-practice hub to drive consistency, knowledge sharing and strategic alignment; collaborating with global counterparts across the Americas and APAC.
What Monster is looking for:
- Strong commercial strategy experience across areas such as revenue growth, pricing, shopper or consumer insights, or commercial planning.
- A proven ability to translate complex data, insights and cross-functional inputs into clear, actionable strategies.
- Confident people leadership, with experience developing high-performing commercial or insight teams.
- Deep understanding of pricing, promotion mechanics, price pack architecture and portfolio profitability.
- Experience operating in matrixed, multi-stakeholder environments with senior leadership exposure.
- Strong influencing skills, particularly within distributed or bottler-led route-to-market models.
- Clear, compelling communication style with the ability to present strategic recommendations at executive level.
Why this role:
This is a rare opportunity to sit at the centre of one of the world’s most powerful beverage brands, shaping commercial strategy across a vast and diverse region. The role offers genuine influence, senior exposure, and the chance to leave a lasting strategic imprint on how Monster drives growth and profitability in EMEAO.
