Love being out in stores and seeing the impact of great retail execution first-hand?
Know how to build relationships, raise standards and get the best out of merchandising teams?
Ready to take ownership of your own territory with the autonomy to make a real difference?
We're looking for a Merchandising Coordinator to join one of Europe's leading and fastest-growing consumer brands as they continue to expand their presence across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone from a merchandising, retail management, visual merchandising or field-based background who wants to step into a role with greater ownership, autonomy and progression.
You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of stores across your territory, becoming the key link between store teams, third-party merchandisers and the wider business, making sure every location looks its best, stays fully stocked and delivers commercially.
If you enjoy being out in the field, solving problems and improving performance through people, this could be a great next step.
The Company
Our client is an internationally recognised consumer goods business and one of Europe's leading brands within its category, with an established presence across major retailers throughout the UK and Europe.
Following significant UK growth, the business is continuing to invest in its retail footprint and field operation, creating an exciting opportunity to join during a key period of expansion.
With in-store availability, presentation and execution playing a huge part in the success of the brand, the field team is at the heart of making that growth happen.
The Role
Reporting into the Regional Manager, you'll take ownership of approximately 15β20 stores across your territory, ensuring each location delivers outstanding standards across merchandising, availability and overall commercial performance.
This is much more than simply merchandising stores yourself.
You'll oversee standards across your territory, work closely with third-party merchandising teams and build strong relationships with store management to make sure issues are identified and resolved quickly.
You'll spend the majority of your week out in stores, coaching merchandisers, reviewing performance, checking execution and identifying opportunities to improve availability and sales.
You'll have the autonomy to plan your own territory and store visits, with real ownership for how your region performs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of approximately 15β20 retail stores across your territory.
- Driving consistently high standards of merchandising, availability and in-store execution.
- Monitoring store sales and performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Overseeing the performance of third-party merchandising teams operating within your stores.
- Coaching, supporting and providing constructive feedback to merchandisers.
- Building strong relationships with Store Managers and other key retail stakeholders.
- Identifying and resolving operational issues before they impact store performance.
- Ensuring compliance with planograms, promotional activity and merchandising standards.
- Using sales and performance data to identify underperforming stores and opportunities for growth.
- Planning your own store visits and journeys efficiently across the territory.
- Acting as the key link between stores, merchandising partners and the wider business.
- Supporting new store openings, launches and wider continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
We're open to different backgrounds. You could currently be working in store management, visual merchandising, field merchandising, retail operations or field sales.
More importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, working independently and getting the best out of people.
Youβll ideally bring:
- Experience within retail, merchandising, FMCG or another fast-paced consumer environment.
- Experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Visual Merchandiser, Field Merchandiser or similar.
- Confidence managing relationships and influencing people without necessarily having direct line-management responsibility.
- Strong organisation and territory planning skills.
- A commercial mindset and an interest in understanding what drives store performance.
- The confidence to challenge standards constructively and improve performance.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for regular business travel.
If you're looking to move beyond a single-store or traditional merchandising role and want the opportunity to take ownership of a wider territory, we'd love to hear from you.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals, regardless of race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
