Are you ready to take control of cash flow and make a real impact in a fast-paced finance team? Advocate Group is proud to represent a leading FMCG business in their search for a Credit Controller to join their Finance Team.
The Business: This is a well-established and growing organisation within the FMCG sector, known for its strong customer relationships and operational excellence. With a focus on efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement, the business offers a structured yet dynamic environment where finance professionals can develop and thrive. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that plays a crucial role in maintaining financial health and supporting business growth.
The Role: We are looking for a candidate that can make their mark and maximise cash flow while minimising bad debt. Here’s how:
- Manage daily cash allocation, invoicing, credit notes, and EDI processing
- Produce weekly reporting (including Mars reports) and support month-end activities
- Proactively chase outstanding payments via phone and email to meet collection targets
- Monitor and report non-payments to the Credit Manager
- Release held orders based on risk assessment
- Handle POD despatches and support key retail accounts
- Manage dispute resolution processes, logging and tracking debit notes/invoices
- Process pro-forma payments and manual invoices
- Maintain accurate pricing input and documentation
About You: Previous experience within Credit Control. Strong understanding of credit control processes and dispute management. Good numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data. Confident communicator with an assertive yet professional approach. Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and finance systems. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Methodical, detail-oriented, and process-driven. Team player with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships. Working towards or holding a Credit Control qualification (desirable).
