Regulatory Paralegal into its Legal, Regulatory & Compliance team.

This is an opportunity to move beyond a traditional paralegal position and build your career within a genuinely international, fast-moving FMCG business.

Working across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania (EMEAO), you’ll support the team on the legal and regulatory issues sitting directly behind Monster Energy’s products, launches and continued international growth.

With Monster operating across approximately 141 countries and territories, you’ll gain exposure to multiple jurisdictions and work closely with legal counsel alongside teams across Operations, Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain and the wider business.

The Role

Sitting within Monster Energy’s Legal, Regulatory & Compliance function, you’ll support across product regulation, government affairs, sustainability and packaging legislation, with a particular focus on forward-looking regulatory work.

This isn’t a contracts-heavy paralegal position.

The work is closely connected to Monster’s products and commercial operation – from supporting NPD and determining whether products and labels are compliant for individual markets, through to monitoring upcoming legislation and understanding what regulatory change could mean for the business.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting new product development and product launches, including compliance reviews, label reviews and product registrations.
  • Assisting with regulatory submissions and matters relating to food information, labelling, nutrition and health claims and energy drink-specific requirements across EMEAO.
  • Conducting legal and regulatory research and translating developments into clear, practical information for the business.
  • Horizon scanning across international markets, tracking upcoming legislation and regulatory changes affecting food, beverage and the energy drinks category.
  • Supporting government affairs activity, including engagement with industry associations and monitoring legislative issues such as category restrictions and taxation.
  • Supporting Monster’s response to evolving sustainability and packaging regulation, including DRS and PPWR.
  • Assisting with regulatory matters involving authorities, including risk reviews and case management.
  • Preparing legal documents, correspondence, briefing notes and internal guidance.
  • Working cross-functionally with colleagues across Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and other areas of the business.
  • Supporting internal training and wider projects across the Legal, Regulatory & Compliance team.
  • What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who has built the foundations of a legal career but, importantly, wants to develop within the regulatory and product space.

You’ll ideally bring

  • A law degree, recognised paralegal qualification or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Previous paralegal or relevant legal experience, either in-house or within private practice.
  • A genuine interest in product regulation, FMCG, food & beverage, sustainability or government affairs.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to interpret detailed legal or regulatory information.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence communicating with both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach – someone comfortable taking ownership, asking questions and learning quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal English; additional European languages would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to an international or multi-jurisdictional environment would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

Previous FMCG or product regulatory experience would certainly be valuable, but Monster isn't looking for the finished article.

The brief places real importance on potential, collaboration, proactivity and a genuine drive to develop within this area of law.

For someone at the earlier stages of their legal career, the breadth of exposure here is difficult to replicate.

You’ll be working within an international business and gaining hands-on exposure to the regulatory considerations behind real products, NPD, labelling, market entry and evolving legislation, while learning directly from experienced legal and regulatory counsel.

Monster also has a strong track record of developing people internally, making this a particularly exciting opportunity for someone looking to establish a long-term career within an in-house legal and regulatory environment.
