The Advocate Group is partnering with a globally recognised brand in the apparel and footwear industry to recruit a skilled Marketplace Manager. In this role, you will take ownership of marketplace performance across key platforms including Next PLC, Zalando, and other strategic partners. You will drive growth, optimise trading performance, and ensure a premium, seamless brand presence across all digital marketplaces. Working closely with teams across marketing, planning, product, finance, and customer service, you will deliver strategy, launch new initiatives, and report on performance to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage marketplace accounts end-to-end, including forecasting, assortment planning, product flow, listings, content optimisation, and conversion improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align pre-season planning with commercial targets and adjust in-season forecasts and assortments based on trading performance.
- Build and execute a long-term marketplace strategy and support expansion into new platforms and EMEA markets.
- Own the P&L for the marketplace channel, manage vendor negotiations, advertising campaigns, and promotional planning.
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting with actionable insights, and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven commercial experience, including managing marketplace accounts at scale.
- Proven success driving profitable growth on Zalando and Next (essential).
- P&L ownership experience for marketplace channels.
- Advanced Excel and experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for forecasting and analysis.
- Knowledge of marketplace SEO, content optimisation, feed management platforms.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor agreements and trade terms.
- Familiarity with European markets.

You are confident, analytical, highly organised, and able to make decisions in complex trading environments. You are hands-on, results-driven, and passionate about delivering a premium marketplace experience. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Must hold a full clean driving licence valid in the UK & EU and a passport enabling unrestricted travel in Europe and the US.
