Job Description

Snr. Legal Counsel

\n

Monster Energy - EMEAO

\n

West London, Hybrid

\n

\n

Are you a Legal Counsel ready to take that next step towards Senior Legal Counsel?

\n

\n

This could be a very interesting one!

\n

\n

Monster Energy is continuing to grow across EMEAO and, with that growth, comes greater legal and regulatory complexity. As a result, the business is adding a brand-new Legal Counsel to its Legal, Regulatory & Compliance team.

\n

\n

This is new headcount, not a replacement.

\n

\n

The opportunity is particularly suited to a strong Legal Counsel who feels ready for more ownership and responsibility, or someone who has recently stepped into Senior Legal Counsel and wants a broader international remit.

\n

\n

And importantly, this isn't a contracts orientated role.

\n

\n

The opportunity

\n

This is a broad in-house position covering legal and regulatory matters across Monster's EMEAO business.

\n

\n

You'll work closely with teams across the organisation, advising on areas including product regulation, government affairs, sustainability and packaging legislation, anti-trust and wider legal risk.

\n

\n

That could mean advising on product compliance and labelling, assessing risk around nutrition and health claims, supporting new product development, engaging with regulators or helping the business understand and respond to new legislation across different markets.

\n

\n

You'll also have exposure to trade associations and government affairs, as well as the opportunity to support and mentor members of the paralegal team depending on your experience.

\n

\n

It's a role where you'll be expected to do more than identify legal risk. Monster wants someone who can understand the issue, make a judgement call and give the business a clear, practical recommendation.

\n

\n

What are we looking for?

\n

You don't need experience across every area of the role.

\n

\n

We're looking for a qualified lawyer with strong Legal Counsel experience, either in-house or from private practice, who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving commercial environment. (6+ years PQE)

\n

\n

Experience in any of the following could be relevant:

\n

    \n
  • Product regulatory / food law
  • \n

  • Competition / anti-trust
  • \n

  • Government or regulatory affairs
  • \n

  • Sustainability / packaging legislation
  • \n

  • Broader in-house legal and regulatory work
  • \n

\n

\n

A generalist in-house Legal Counsel background could work particularly well, while experience within FMCG, CPG food or beverage would be highly relevant rather than essential.

\n

\n

More than anything, we're looking for someone with the confidence to take ownership: someone commercially minded, comfortable working autonomously and able to turn complex legal issues into straightforward advice for the wider business.

\n

\n

If you're already performing strongly as a Legal Counsel but can't see where the progression to Senior Legal Counsel is going to come from, that's exactly why this opportunity is worth exploring.

\n

\n

You'll be joining an international business that is continuing to grow, taking on a genuinely broad remit across EMEAO with the opportunity to build your level of responsibility alongside it.
