The Advocate Group is proud to be partnering with a globally recognised premium apparel and footwear brand to recruit a Marketplace Manager. This is a commercially focused, hands-on role where you will take full ownership of the marketplace channel across the UK and EU. Managing key platforms including Next PLC and Zalando, you will be responsible for driving visibility, conversion, and revenue growth, while ensuring a premium and consistent brand presence across all marketplaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage marketplace accounts end-to-end, including forecasting, assortment planning, product flow, listings, content optimisation, and conversion improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Demand Planning, Marketing, Finance, IT, Customer Services and Product) to align pre-season planning with commercial targets and adjust in-season forecasts based on trading performance.
- Drive sales growth through trading plans, promotional activity, and ongoing performance optimisation across each marketplace.
- Own the P&L for the marketplace channel, working closely with Finance to deliver profitable growth.
- Manage product data feeds, ensuring all titles, descriptions, imagery and attributes are optimised for SEO and marketplace performance.
- Work closely with Demand Planning to support inventory management, stock flow, replenishment and returns analysis.
- Build and execute a long-term marketplace strategy, supporting expansion into new platforms and EMEA markets.
- Develop and manage strong relationships with marketplace partners to maximise exposure, seasonal campaigns, and marketing opportunities.
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting with actionable insights, and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience managing marketplace accounts within a retail, apparel, or footwear environment.
- Strong track record of driving growth across Zalando and Next (Zalando essential).
- Experience owning and managing marketplace P&L.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) and experience using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with feed management, content optimisation, and marketplace SEO.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in vendor negotiations, trade terms, and promotional planning.
- Understanding of marketplace operations including algorithms, listing compliance, and fulfilment standards.
- Experience working across European markets.

Must hold a full clean driving licence valid in the UK & EU and a passport enabling unrestricted travel in Europe and the US.
