The Advocate Group is exclusively partnering with Monster Energy on a newly created Director – Technical & Regulatory Affairs (EMEA) position.

This is a significant leadership appointment within Monster's EMEA business, bringing Technical Commercialisation and Regulatory Affairs together under one strategic leader across more than 45 markets.

Reporting directly to the VP of NPD EMEA and sitting on the NPD Leadership Team, you'll lead the teams responsible for navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape while ensuring Monster can continue to innovate, commercialise and scale products effectively across the region.

It's a rare combination of technical depth, regulatory strategy, commercial decision-making and senior leadership – with genuine influence over how the business protects and enables its future growth.

The role

Monster continues to grow rapidly across EMEA. More markets, continued innovation and an evolving regulatory environment naturally bring greater technical and regulatory complexity.

This newly created role will provide one clear strategic direction across both Technical Commercialisation and Regulatory Affairs.

You'll be responsible for anticipating what is coming next, understanding what it means for Monster and translating that into practical action across formulation, ingredients, manufacturing, artwork, labelling and market access.

That could mean responding to proposed ingredient restrictions in a key market, determining whether reformulation is commercially and technically viable, influencing external stakeholders or ensuring a new product can successfully move from concept through scale-up and into production across multiple manufacturing locations.

What you'll be responsible for

• Lead the EMEA Technical Commercialisation and Regulatory Affairs functions, providing strategic direction across both disciplines.
• Sit on the EMEA NPD Leadership Team, contributing to regional strategy, priorities and senior-level decision-making.
• Lead a geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary organisation, including Directors and their wider teams.
• Own the regional regulatory strategy, including horizon scanning and early identification of emerging risks and opportunities.
• Translate regulatory developments into clear commercial and technical recommendations for the business.
• Lead Monster's response to regulatory changes affecting ingredients, formulations, claims, labelling and market access.
• Represent Monster externally with regulatory authorities, trade associations, industry bodies and other key stakeholders.
• Influence emerging regulation and ensure Monster's position is represented effectively within relevant industry discussions.
• Provide leadership across formulation scale-up, technical transfer, manufacturing readiness and ongoing production support.
• Work closely with Corporate R&D, Legal, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain and wider commercial teams to enable successful product launches.
• Balance regulatory compliance with technical feasibility, consumer experience, speed to market, cost and commercial opportunity.
• Build leadership capability and succession strength across both functions while continuing to develop a high-performing regional team.
• Drive greater consistency, governance and operational excellence across the technical and regulatory organisation.

What we're looking for

This role needs more than a career regulatory specialist or a purely technical leader.

We're looking for someone with the credibility to operate across both Technical Commercialisation and Regulatory Affairs, who understands how the two functions combine to enable a fast-moving international consumer business.

You'll bring:

• Significant senior leadership experience within beverages, food or a closely related FMCG environment.
• Strong experience across both Regulatory Affairs and Technical Commercialisation.
• Deep understanding of formulation, ingredients and how changes to either can impact product performance and commercial viability.
• Experience developing regulatory strategy across multiple international markets, ideally within EMEA.
• First-hand experience navigating significant regulatory change and translating it into practical business decisions.
• Experience leading complex reformulation programmes, including assessing technical feasibility, manufacturing implications and commercial impact.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, scale-up and technical transfer.
• Credibility engaging externally with regulators, trade associations and industry bodies.
• Experience leading sizeable, geographically dispersed technical and/or regulatory teams.
• The judgement to make difficult decisions where **compliance, technical feasibility, cost, speed and commercial priorities** don't naturally align.
• The ability to influence confidently at executive level while remaining close enough to the detail to challenge and guide technical decisions.
