The Advocate Group are proud to be working in partnership with an exciting and fast-growing food brand to recruit a Technical Services Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical professional to join a dynamic FMCG business and play a key role in ensuring product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across a diverse product portfolio. Working closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and retail customers, you will help maintain the highest standards across all technical and compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own technical compliance across the full product portfolio
- Manage retailer technical relationships and customer requirements
- Ensure supplier approval processes are robust, compliant, and effectively maintained
- Oversee product specifications, artwork approvals, and regulatory sign-off
- Lead responses to quality issues, complaints, and product withdrawals/recalls where required
- Monitor and interpret changes in UK and EU food legislation
- Conduct supplier audits and ensure BRCGS and food safety standards are maintained
- Drive continuous improvement across quality systems and technical processes
About You
- Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a technical or quality role in FMCG, food manufacturing, or food distribution
- Strong understanding of UK retailer technical standards and compliance requirements
- Experience conducting audits including BRCGS, retailer, or third-party audits
- Solid knowledge of UK/EU food legislation and labelling regulations
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Confident communicator capable of building effective retailer and supplier relationships
- Proactive and solutions-focused with a strong approach to risk management
