POSITION OVERVIEW

The role of Director of Strategic Projects – Internal Communications is a new role within the Monster EMEA business. Internal Communications has been recognised as a key strategic initiative in helping to achieve our ambitious growth targets in both the short and long term. This role has therefore been created to define, develop, and deliver the Monster EMEA internal communications strategy, and as such will be a highly influential and visible role within the total business, with high level stakeholders across EMEA.

We are therefore looking for a highly motivated, agile and self-driven individual who can bring their existing communications experience to Monster EMEA, and lead the internal communications team, own the strategy and vision, support the team in delivering an exciting comms program, and drive continuous improvement to our communication platforms, processes and quality of content.

The individual needs to have strong EQ and interpersonal skills in order to quickly develop a trusted network within the organization. This will help them better understand the business which will lead to more effective and engagement outcomes for all our programs.

The role sits within the Business Capability function at Monster EMEA. This function exists to transform the Monster EMEA performance by accelerating our business capability, including the strategic planning, management, and delivery of EMEA objectives, strategic initiatives and projects.

The Monster EMEA internal communications strategy currently covers the following areas (although this is not an exhaustive list, and continuously evolves):

  • Providing a clear framework of communication, overall EMEA comms calendar management and socialising/training of comms playbook, owning our processes
  • To deliver our in-person and broadcasted experiences across our EMEA Monster family
  • Partnering with our in-house content Studio, Sports category managers, and Brand team to create the most impactful content for EMEA
  • Providing EMEA with a 2-way dialogue through written communication, update, inform and engage.

This role currently has two direct reports – who lead various facets of the internal communications strategy.

There may be the requirement to work as part of a team on other workstreams sitting in other function driven strategic initiatives.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Communications Experience: Previous experience and leadership of organization communications best practice.
  • High EQ & Interpersonal skills: Strong relationship-building skills in order to work with other functions. Confident and articulate, able to engage both junior and senior level stakeholders, to gain buy in for proposed communication initiatives.
  • Creativity: requires the creative ability to devise communication strategies
  • Principles of Communication: strong understanding of the key principles and techniques which allow the creation of a highly engaging, clear and impactful piece of communication.
  • Communication skills: strong listening and speaking skills, and a sensitivity to an organisation’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees.
  • Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication.
