The Role
As a Global Category Manager – Corrugated Packaging, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the procurement strategy for corrugated packaging, managing an £80M spend. You will drive supplier relationships, cost efficiencies, and sustainability initiatives while ensuring seamless collaboration across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a 2-3 year sourcing strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Engineering).
- Oversee procurement processes to enhance cost efficiency, sustainability, and supplier innovation.
- Work closely with regional procurement teams to ensure smooth implementation of global strategies.
- Establish and monitor supplier relationships through structured evaluation and performance tracking.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost modelling, material reformulation, and sustainability projects.
- Support regional teams in negotiations and contract execution with global suppliers.
About You
Essential:
- Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in direct procurement within FMCG.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate strategically while also managing operational tasks.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in English (additional language skills beneficial).
