The Role
As a Global Category Manager – Base Film, you will lead the procurement strategy for base film packaging, managing a £44M spend. This role requires strategic vision, strong supplier management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a 2-3 year sourcing strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Engineering).
- Manage supplier relationships to drive cost savings, innovation, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead global procurement processes to ensure efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee supplier evaluations and negotiate global agreements in collaboration with regional procurement teams.
- Identify and implement cost-modelling strategies, improving pricing structures and supplier performance.
- Develop a sustainability roadmap aligned with corporate environmental goals, including recyclable and carbon-neutral packaging solutions.
- Monitor commodity markets and define procurement strategies accordingly.
- Ensure supply continuity by anticipating market trends and implementing risk-mitigation plans.
