The Advocate Group has partnered with a leading international consumer goods business to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager within its high-performing commercial finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of finance, strategy and commercial decision-making. Supporting a rapidly evolving international business, you'll play a critical role in driving growth through financial planning, business partnering and strategic analysis, helping shape investment decisions and long‑term commercial plans across multiple markets.
The Role
As Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering robust financial planning and analysis, developing commercial insights and partnering with senior stakeholders to support business growth. Working cross‑functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations teams, you'll provide the financial rigour required to evaluate opportunities, optimise performance and support strategic decision‑making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning processes across multiple markets and business units.
- Building detailed financial models to assess growth opportunities, investment decisions and commercial initiatives.
- Delivering insightful analysis on business performance, identifying risks and opportunities to drive profitability.
- Supporting strategic planning through scenario modelling, business case development and investment appraisal.
- Partnering with commercial teams to evaluate customer, channel and market performance.
- Providing financial support for new business opportunities, expansion projects and growth initiatives.
- Developing and enhancing reporting processes, dashboards and performance metrics.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to influence decision‑making through data‑driven insights.
- Supporting the delivery of annual plans, quarterly forecasts and long‑term growth strategies.
- Driving continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting and analytical capabilities.
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys influencing business performance beyond the numbers. You’ll bring:
- Experience within Commercial Finance, FP&A, Financial Planning, Business Partnering or Strategic Finance roles.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning processes.
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable commercial insights.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience partnering non‑finance teams.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting tools.
- A proactive, curious and solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Experience within FMCG, Consumer Goods, Retail or a similarly fast‑paced commercial environment would be advantageous.
- Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred.
