We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Finance Assistant to support the effective running of our finance operations at Advice Direct Scotland. About the Role

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. You will be responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting invoicing and reconciliations, and ensuring all financial data is handled in a timely and compliant manner. Working closely with the wider finance team, you will help ensure that all financial processes are efficient, auditable, and aligned to organisational policies — enabling the organisation to operate effectively and continue delivering vital support services across Scotland.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Educated to SCQF Level 4–5/ National 4/5, Standard Grades, including English and Maths or equivalent experience in a similar or related role.
  • You will ideally bring some exposure to finance processes or accounts administration.
  • You will have strong organisational and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • You will be able to demonstrate your confidence in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A familiarity with invoice processing, supplier administration, or reconciliation support would be advantageous.
  • You will also have strong written and verbal communication skills, take a proactive and reliable approach, and have a professional manner at all times.
  • A high level of confidentiality and integrity is key, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
