The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is the UK’s independent regulator of advertising across all media. Together with the Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP), who write the Advertising Codes, we work to make sure ads are responsible. The ASA’s Communications team promotes the ASA and the regulatory system to a wide range of audiences, including the public, the advertising industry, government and the media.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Communications Specialist to join us, working alongside our Digital Communications Executive, the wider communications team, and across the organisation to build our online presence through regular, meaningful content that engages our key stakeholders and helps us achieve our ambitious targets to raise awareness of the ASA and the work we do. You will support the ASA and CAP by identifying and leading developments in our digital communication capabilities, policies, processes and standards, taking ownership of our digital communications strategy and leading an exciting project to redesign/build our website, planned for 2026/2027.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic digital communications professional with in-depth experience of working in website management and digital marketing, either in-house or through agency work. You will have experience of managing complex websites and using digital communications channels, including websites, email, search, social media, and database marketing, to reach and engage target audiences. You’ll be up to date with trends and technologies and ever looking to develop our digital output accordingly. Project management, organisational and administrative skills are essential, and you will have the ability to collaborate and work effectively across all levels of the organisation, including with senior management. You will also have a customer-focused approach and strong relationship management skills.
What can we offer you?
We are a welcoming, open, friendly and collaborative organisation. We offer a flexible hybrid-working environment (working 40% of your time per month from our office in Shoreditch, London). Holiday entitlement starts at 25 days and builds up to 30 days after five years’ service, with an option to buy or sell up to five days each year. We offer an extensive range of benefits, including Life Assurance, interest-free season ticket loan, membership of our contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers and membership of our Employee Assistance Programme, which provides confidential support and advice. We also have a number of other flexible benefits, such as dental insurance and critical illness cover, which you can choose to buy annually through our flexible benefits provider. We are committed to supporting individual career development and all vacancies are advertised internally to give staff the opportunity to develop their careers.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, disability, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race (including colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin), religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. We welcome applications from all sections of the community so if you would like an interesting and varied career in media regulation and have the passion and drive to help us achieve our goal to make sure every UK ad is a responsible ad, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
