A leading, well-established family law practice is seeking an experienced Senior Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights (litigation and advocacy) with 5+ years’ PQE to join our growing Southwest based team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern, progressive firm known for its high-quality children law work in the Southwest.
Role
- Manage your own caseload, supported by a highly experienced team of senior solicitors, newly qualified solicitors, trainees and paralegals.
- Represent parents, family members and children in all aspects of Private Law Children proceedings across courts predominately in the Southwest but also further afield.
- Assist our Child Abduction Team.
- Develop specialisms in more esoteric areas of private children law, for example surrogacy.
- Conduct your own advocacy.
- Maintain professional accreditations.
- Engage with Resolution regional groups.
- Supervise fellow fee earners.
- Nurture trainees.
- Travel for meetings and court dates; ability to drive and daily access to a car is essential.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights (litigation and advocacy) and 5+ years’ PQE in family law.
- Accredited member of either the Children Panel or Resolution.
- Experience handling Legal Aid Casework in private law children law (desirable).
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Familiarity with case management systems (LEAP preferred but not essential).
- Familiarity with CCMS and the HMCTS portal (desirable).
- Mediation trained or accredited (desirable).
- Ability to work in a paperless environment.
