We are looking for dedicated Passenger Assistants to help children and young people travel safely to and from school or college in Plymouth. This Passenger Assistant role is ideal for caring, reliable individuals who enjoy supporting children and young people, many of whom have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our transport service supports around 1,000 students aged 4–25, travelling safely to and from school or college by minibus or taxi. As a Passenger Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring each journey is safe, calm, and positive.
As a Passenger Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children and young people during their journey to and from school or college
- Ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of students while travelling
- Working closely with drivers, schools, and transport staff to support smooth journeys
- Covering for other Passenger Assistants when required
This Passenger Assistant position is hands-on, rewarding, and makes a real difference every day.
Working Hours:
- Cover required Monday to Friday
- Typical Passenger Assistant hours are 07:00–10:00 and 14:00–17:00
- Term time only
- Hours vary depending on route length and cover requirements
