An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Controls Manager to join a major nuclear EPC programme, providing leadership across cost, planning and performance management on a complex, safety‑critical project. You’ll take ownership of project controls delivery, leading a multi‑disciplinary team while working closely with stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure schedule, cost and risk are tightly managed throughout the project lifecycle. Previous experience within nuclear or highly regulated environments will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide management oversight of the project controls function across cost and planning.
- Develop, maintain and improve project controls systems, procedures and reporting aligned to client standards.
- Lead planning, scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting and certification activities.
- Own detailed delivery, installation schedules and project budgets.
- Actively manage risk, ensuring threats to cost, schedule and scope are identified early and mitigated.
- Work closely with Quality teams to align project controls with QA/QC processes.
- Monitor productivity, performance metrics and financial forecasting.
- Produce and oversee key controls outputs including:
- Gantt charts
- Critical path analysis
- S‑curves
- Baseline schedules
- Histograms and PERT charts
Essential Skills & Experience
- UK passport holder with active SC clearance (required to start).
- Proven experience managing project controls on large EPC projects.
- Background in nuclear, defence, energy or other regulated sectors highly desirable.
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced capability in:
- Primavera P6
- Excel
- Project planning and reporting tools
- Level 3 schedules
- Manpower histograms
- Gantt charts
- S‑curves
