Certain Advantage is hiring for a Junior Plant Fitter / Maintenance Technician based within a commutable distance to Chesterfield. This is a permanent, full-time position primarily based at the depot, working closely alongside the workshop team and senior fitters.

The Company: We are working with a leading specialist engineering contractor, providing innovative solutions on technically challenging civil, geotechnical, and structural projects across the UK.
The Role: You will focus on routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and basic repair of workshop equipment. Day to day you will:
- Carry out routine servicing, basic mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance on workshop plant.
- Work across a broad mix of machinery, including small engines, compressors, track dumpers, excavators, hydraulic drills, and winches.
- Assist senior fitters with basic fault diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Accompany senior fitters on occasional site visits to gain hands-on field experience.
- Record service and maintenance activity accurately.
The Individual: Practical mechanical experience (e.g., Automotive Mechanics, HGV Technicians, Agricultural Machinery, Plant, Quarry, or Factory Maintenance backgrounds). A recently completed NVQ Level 1/2 or apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline is desirable but not essential. A valid UK Driving Licence.
