Your Role as a Senior Care Assistant
Support residents and guide the care team in helping individuals live independently, engage in community life and enjoy meaningful days.
Resident Care
- Support residents with personal care (washing, dressing, mobility, toileting, feeding).
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice.
- Administer medication safely (with training).
- Supervise and mentor care assistants on shift.
- Allocate duties fairly and ensure high standards of care.
- Support training and development of new team members.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals.
Health & Safety
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and escort concerns promptly.
- Respond to emergencies and safeguarding issues appropriately.
- Ensure infection control and health & safety standards are always maintained.
Qualifications
- Experience in social care (experience within an extra care or housing scheme setting is highly valued).
- NVQ/Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or currently working towards it).
- Genuine compassion and respect for others.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organization skills.
- The right to work in the UK.
