Job Description
Be a part of a special care team delivering care to our client who is a delightful and sociable child to support him to reach his full potential. The client has a multitude of complex medical needs that requires careful monitoring and support with all aspects of daily living, which can include domestic duties and various social activities such as engaging in sensory play, exploring the outdoors, and interacting with toys, painting or attending discos.
You will deliver care in line with the care plan which includes tracheostomy care, care of the ventilated child, PEG feeds for hydration purposes, and specialist moving and handling techniques due to spinal instability. You will be supported by Advantage Healthcare London branch and invited to attend regular supervisions and team meetings. A registered nurse will ensure you are competent in our client’s care needs and support with any clinical concerns and queries you may have.
Qualifications
Prior to the interview stage, you need to have the following experience to be eligible:
- Experience working in a complex care setting.
- Experience in moving and handling.
- Experience in tracheostomy & PEG feed care.
- Experience of looking after a ventilated child.
- Experience with suctioning.
- Experience with Makaton or alternative communication methods.
You will need to be a car driver due to the location.
