Due to continued expansion, Advantage Finance Ltd is looking to further increase our team and are seeking to recruit a driven and highly skilled Senior Oversight Manager (SOM) with experience in the motor finance industry.

Advantage Finance Ltd provide motor finance Hire Purchase facilities for customers throughout the UK. We provide a straightforward, easy to understand, Hire Purchase product that allows customers to finance the purchase of new and used motor cars, vans, motorcycles or caravans from any licensed dealer of your choice throughout the UK. Advantage Finance Ltd are one of the UK's foremost specialist motor finance providers, with a successful proven track record of over 20 years.
The Role
A full time, permanent position, with a flexible mixture of working from home and Head Office in Grimsby, together with visiting accounts nationally on an ad hoc basis. You will manage your own diary and be liaising directly with the Sales Division to complete all the necessary workloads. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Senior Oversight Manager will be responsible for ensuring the company adheres to external regulatory requirements, legal standards and internal policies, while actively monitoring business processes to mitigate risks. This role typically acts as a second line of defense, implementing compliance frameworks, conducting audits and reporting any trends and performances to senior leadership. They will collaborate with all departments within the business but especially working very closely with the Sales Division to achieve KPIs, good customer outcomes and contribute to brand growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Introducer (Dealers/Brokers) onboarding and in-life risk/compliance monitoring.
- Maintain policies, procedures and internal control systems regarding return of funds in relation to policy when relating to unwinds, SQ’s and collection of goods.
- Analysing key performance indicators (KPI’s), risk indicators (KRI’s) and producing high-level MI to monitor trends and report any potential operational, strategic or financial obstacles to stakeholders.
- Perform regular risk-based audits, quality checks and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and Advantage’s risk policies, including Introducer onboarding.
- Act as the primary contact for our Introducers and internal departments for regulatory oversight and monitoring.
- Deliver training and guidance when identified with both internal and external staff, including onboarding and system training.
- Communicate effectively with staff including senior managers and Directors.
Key Skills and Attributes:
The Senior Oversight Manager should ideally demonstrate the following key skills and attributes in order to succeed in the management of their responsibilities.
- Proven experience in compliance, audit or risk management, with specialised knowledge in the motor financial industry.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with all departments.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, analytical capabilities and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and risk management software, data analysis tools (e.g. Power BI) or SharePoint.
- Set, monitor and achieve goals and targets.
- Adapt to key changes and real world events at short notice.
- Be forward thinking and pro-active, seeking solutions to potential issues as they arise.
- Maintain a working knowledge of company practices and policies.
- Maintain a good, up to date knowledge and understanding of regulatory guidance and certification management.
- Be self-motivated and reactive to any task which presents itself and able to prioritise workload.
Required skills & Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence holder.
- Experience in a senior capacity within the finance industry, preferably within an oversight role.
- Deep understanding of relevant regulations (e.g. FCA, GDPR, ISO).
