We are looking for an Automated Test Engineer to join our business. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of solutions delivered to clients by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites while integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.

You will champion quality practices and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives within the team, contributing to the development of user-centric solutions that empower individuals to perform at their best.

Salary & Benefits

The budgeted salary for this role is between 35,000 and 40,000 a year, depending on experience.

  • Work effectively and collaborate with team members (stakeholders and technical).
  • Extend existing test scripts to improve coverage, based on agile functional demands for the relevant project.
  • Provide detailed reports for QA outputs.
  • Be able to work to a schedule, completing tasks on time, as defined.
  • Create new test scripts aligning with the best practice set out by the team.
  • Learn and improve on the job (picking up new skills and capabilities as the work progresses).

This role may require you to undergo the Security Clearance (SC) process once in role, so for that reason we will ask you to confirm if you are a British passport holder with 5 years residency in the UK when you apply for this position.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Successfully engage with and coordinate with stakeholders, establishing shift left automated testing from start to finish.
  • Work with technical members of the team to ensure full understanding and alignment on technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project team members to deliver a successful implementation of automated testing scripts.
  • Create and enhance Playwright testing scripts covering the key functional elements of the project, working through them in priority order.
  • Providing excellent communication with technical leads and the programme delivery manager to keep everyone up to date.
  • Provide reports and details for failures and gaps in implementation - based on testing findings.
  • Design and incorporate QA testing within the CI / CD process.

Qualifications & Experience

The right candidate for this role will have:

  • Experience in automated software testing, with a proven ability to design, write and run automation frameworks and suites (essential).
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress (essential).
  • A strong understanding of manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
  • The ability to analyse technical and business requirements and translate them into effective, structured test scenarios.
