Do you have finance or management accounts experience? Are you looking for a permanent and varied management accounts focused finance role, working from home Monday – Friday? Do you live within an hour of Bedford, with your own transport? If so, our rapidly expanding client that works within the procurement and education sector is keen to hear from you! They are looking for a talented and communicative finance officer to work within the finance team. We are looking for someone that will be either: CIMA part qualified management accountant – study support is available for you to complete your studies. Or Qualified by Experience Our client is also keen to consider candidates within an accountancy practice and would like the opportunity to move into commerce & industry – focusing on management accounts. The ideal candidate: Someone with experience of working in schools/trusts will be a significant advantage, enabling you to be sympathetic to a school\’s priorities, with an understanding of their financial regulations and policies – however this is not essential. Experience of running reports and analysis of reports, including assisting with monthly management accounts. Good understanding of all areas of finance including VAT returns. Knowledge of bank reconciliation and payroll would be beneficial. Experience of using Xero as a finance software.The Company: Our client has grown significantly in the last 10 years, they provide a unique procurement framework for the public sector which includes providing IT related solutions for Schools, Universities, Colleges, Councils and the NHS. Our client has the ability to take care of all the compliance by streamlining the process, whilst dealing with over 200 pre-approved suppliers for their needs. This can include simple hardware requests through to complex IT Support for a multi-sited trust. The Finance Team: The finance team provides a complete finance service to the company, addressing all issues of a financial nature and providing all relevant information to meet internal and external demands. The Role Running reports and analysis of reports including assisting with monthly management accounts. Covering other parts of finance including VAT returns. Bank reconciliation and payroll when required. Handling of the finance inbox. Provide cover/support to colleagues.The Person: 3+ years\’ experience working within a finance/administration environment/department and undertaking a similar role and responsibilities. A good standard of education including excellent English language skills, both written and verbal with the confidence and ability to communicate clearly by telephone, in writing and in person with a wide range of contacts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative internal and external working relationships at all levels. A supportive, calm and professional manner. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. The ability to work virtually (from home) with high levels of concentration. The ability to respond effectively to changing priorities. Good numerical/financial/analytical skills with a good level of numeracy and ability to problem solve. An understanding of the principles and standards of financial accounting processes and procedures. Strong keyboard and IT skills including a good working knowledge of MS software packages (e.g. Teams, Outlook, Word). Strong Excel skills and knowledge would be advantageous. A working knowledge of Xero software. Awareness of the provisions of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts and be able to apply these within the organisation.
