Are you a Project Accountant with commercial experience, living locally to Gloucester? This is an office-based role with the option to work 1 day per week from home - you will ideally live within 30-45 minutes of Gloucester.
Our client are highly experienced professionals specialising in the utility sector, offering end-to-end engineering services across project development, design, and delivery. Backed by a robust supply chain and decades of global experience, their team delivers safe, efficient, and profitable project outcomes. Their strength lies in engaging early in the project lifecycle engineering and designing the most effective solutions that mitigate risk and reduce overspend. Through their turnkey approach, they guide projects through each critical stage:
- Understanding the driver and project goals
- Proving concepts through FEED (Front-End Engineering Design)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive project accountant to support the commercial and project teams in Gloucester. This is a key role within this growing business, ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping skills and hands-on experience using Xero and Replicon.
You will work closely with the Head of Commercial to improve financial systems, ensuring project profitability, whilst helping drive efficient and scalable processes as the business continues to grow:
- Manage accurate financial records across multiple projects, including purchase orders, timesheets, and invoicing
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of clients in line with contract terms and project milestones
- Oversee timely and accurate payments to our supply chain, maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Utilise Xero for accounting operations, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Track time and costs using Replicon, ensuring project spend is accurate and up to date
- Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and project cost control
- Collaborate with project managers and quantity surveyors to monitor project financial health
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts, including documentation for audit
- Contribute to process improvements across financial operations
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reports to support commercial decision-making
Proven experience in bookkeeping and project accounting, proficiency in Xero and familiarity with Replicon, exposure to or experience with quantity surveying (QS).
