We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager with an IDNO background to drive sales growth across ICPs and residential, commercial, and industrial developers. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role focuses on positioning as the preferred owner and operator of electricity networks for new developments. This is a fully remote role, suited to someone who enjoys meeting customers face-to-face and is willing to travel regularly across the UK.
What you will be doing
- Business Development & Lead Generation: Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities across residential and industrial and commercial markets.
- Sales Performance and Reporting: Deliver against agreed sales targets, managing a structured and transparent pipeline with regular reporting in line with governance and forecasting requirements. Effective CRM utilisation, and the application of structured sales methodologies (e.g. MEDDIC) to progress business-to-business opportunities.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with ICPs, consultants, residential and industrial and commercial developers to secure repeat business.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with technical, commercial and operational colleagues and other internal teams to support business objectives, including quotations and pricing negotiations.
- Bid Management: Take ownership of bid and proposal activity, partnering with technical teams to deliver high-quality submissions. Presenting value-based bid proposals to customers.
- Promote and Represent the Company: Represent AEN at marketing initiatives, trade shows and presentations to raise profile and generate future business opportunities.
What we are looking for

- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercially astute, balancing customer and business needs.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- High attention to detail with strong written communication and IT skills.
- Customer focused, with a clear understanding of its impact on growth.
- Full UK driving licence. Willingness to meet customers face to face and travel regularly across the UK (essential).
