Now is an exciting time to join a world leading supplier of Laboratory Equipment as their Lead Electrical Design Engineer/Project Manager at their Portsmouth facility.

As Lead Electrical / Project Engineer you will assume responsibility for the electrical design and also manage and lead the product development projects. You will take responsibility for projects from the initial customer meetings, through the electrical design process, and on to manufacturing, project completion and final delivery to customers.

Within the role, you will create bespoke electrical designs using SolidWorks Electrical, as well as generate and update BOM’s and other design and manufacturing documentation as required. On a daily basis you will collaborate with other designers and departments to clarify specifications and translate technical requirements into structured modular designs.

As the lead Project Manager, you will work closely with all key stakeholders to manage the full project life cycle, ensuring delivery on time, in budget and on cost. Within the role, you will create accurate electrical designs within specified timelines, ensuring compliance with company standards and relevant market standards (e.g., EN standards). You will also provide technical support to sales, support internal teams and customers with electrical questions and project status updates.

Experience: It is expected that you will have a minimum of an HNC or higher in a relevant electrical subject, along with experience of Electrical design software.

Additional Information: Candidates must be resident in the UK and be eligible to live and work in UK. Copies of Passports and Visas will be requested for verification.
