Now is an exciting time to join a leading manufacturer of scientific equipment in Bristol, who are looking for an additional Technical Author. In this role, you will create and refine highly technical documentation, prioritising content validation and review.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication abilities and will collaborate effectively across various departments with diverse stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include:
- Publishing customer manuals
- Developing new documentation
- Validating technical details
- Reviewing content
- Editing CAD drawings for use in technical documentation
- Answering product queries
Working onsite, at least 3 days per week, with the Technical Authoring Team, you will provide input to all technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: You should hold a recognised technical authoring qualification (ISTC, NVQ, Diploma, etc.) or equivalent experience.
Experience: You should have at least 2 years’ experience in a Technical Author / Writing role, writing documentation for scientific instrumentation and applying Simplified Technical English. You should have a high level of competence in authoring software, preferably MadCap Flare, Adobe Acrobat, and SolidWorks/Solid Edge. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in high tech manufacturing such as the semiconductor, electro-mechanical, or scientific sector.
Additional Information: Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK without requiring sponsorship. Copies of Passports / Visas will be requested for verification.
Salary: up to c£45k, plus generous benefits.
