Owing to continued growth, a leading equipment manufacturer has a new role for a Head of Planning to lead on Planning activities, enhance the planning strategy and oversee the Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of 5 to ensure production schedules and resource planning align with customer demand and manufacturing requirements, including existing manufacturing and introducing new products into manufacturing.
- Oversee day-to-day planning activities and develop and maintain reliable and detailed production schedules and the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Manage inventory policies and levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, coordinating with the Head of Supply Chain to ensure timely material availability.
- Ensure ERP and MRP data accuracy and lead improvements in planning systems and technology adoption.
- Draw on management and leadership experience to mentor and develop a high-performing planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Act as the senior planning interface and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Import/Export and Shipping to align plans with business objectives.
Qualifications
- Ideally you should have achieved a qualification in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as APICS CPIM/CSCP or Lean/CI certifications are desirable.
Experience
- With a proven background in manufacturing planning or supply chain, you should have a strong technical knowledge of MRP II principles, ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP), and supply planning methodologies.
- You should also have hands-on experience managing and developing Planning teams, including recognizing, inspiring, and motivating the team to contribute to business objectives, and implementing actions to develop the team.

Salary: c 60k, plus generous benefits
