Assembly Technician – Electronics – Nottingham/Derby – LM1205a Salary: Competitive Job Term: Full Time/Permanent Job Outline: My client, who is a leader in the world of Electronic Manufacturing, now seeks an experienced Electronics Assembly Technician to join their growing team. Based within commuting distance of my client’s facility close to Derby/Nottingham and reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing Operations, you will have varied responsibilities across both manufacturing and development. On a daily basis you will be manufacturing products comprising of electronics and cable assemblies to production instructions and completing quality checks on own work. You will be responsible for completing the relevant production documentation for all work done, as well as assisting in the training of production colleagues. In addition to undertaking standard production work (Electronic assembly, Test, Calibration etc), you will also undertake specialist 1 off build/prototype work. It is expected that you will have experience of soldering on PCB, making electrical equipment using screened cables, heat shrink, fitting connector of various type, using potting compounds etc. Strong soldering skills to IPC standards and proven experience as an assembly technician or similar role in the electro-mechanical industry will be a great advantage. Qualifications: You will have a strong interest electronics, along with a relevant electronics qualification e.g. HND or equivalent, and at least two years’ experience in a similar role. A current IPC qualification is desirable; if you have appropriate experience training can be provided. Additional information: Candidates MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK.
