My client, who is a world leader in the Electronic Instrumentation sector, now seeks an experienced Production Technician (Electronics). Based at my client’s facility close to Nottingham and Derby, you will be an experienced Production/Manufacturing Technician, with a background and understanding of Electronics/Electronic manufacturing.
Within the role, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives for all aspects of product manufacture, from best practice for solder joints to determining and implementing any necessary in-process functional testing. You will support and maintain production equipment, in-house tooling and test fixtures and support the collection and monitoring of process metrics (Yield, Scrap) and report to management. Supported by the Quality Manager, you will conduct root cause analysis as well as implement corrective actions and preventive actions to resolve production issues.
You will also provide training and technical support to production operators, and work with the design team to lead the transfer of new and custom products into production. In addition, you will also define, prepare, audit and maintain production documentation including standard operating procedures, work instructions and control plans. Ideally you will also have experience in designing manufacturing jigs and fixtures.

Qualifications: It is expected that you will have a HND or higher in Electronic Engineering or similar, with the ability to fault find, and repair electronics to component level. It is expected that you will have strong soldering/repair skills, preferably to IPC standard. Industry experience is essential.
