We’re looking for a Warehouse Team Manager who brings energy, focus, and strong people leadership to our fast‑paced 3PL operation. In this hands‑on role, you’ll motivate and support frontline colleagues, keep performance high, and make sure every shift runs safely and smoothly. This is a full‑time, permanent role (40 hours per week) with a range of shift patterns across Monday–Friday, Tuesday–Saturday, or Sunday–Thursday on either 6am–2pm or 2pm–10pm. You’ll earn £36,223 plus benefit from a structured development plan, mentorship, and clear opportunities to progress.
You’ll be the driving force behind daily performance, balancing labour, cost‑to‑serve, productivity, and service to meet customer SLAs. Using data and KPIs such as labour efficiency, absence, accuracy, service levels, and cost, you’ll spot issues early, unlock improvements, and keep the operation moving in the right direction. Most importantly, you’ll build a high‑performance culture where colleagues feel supported, accountable, and ready to deliver their best.
Key Responsibilities- Create a positive, high‑performing warehouse environment by providing visible motivating leadership to colleagues.
- Foster a culture where people feel safe, included, valued and supported to do their best work every day.
- Plan and allocate labour effectively to maintain smooth operational flow.
- Make informed, real‑time decisions to balance service, productivity and cost as volumes and priorities shift throughout the day.
- Use operational data to drive performance, tracking key KPIs such as service levels, accuracy, labour efficiency, safety and cost.
- Translate insights into action, identifying opportunities, resolving issues quickly and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Develop and support colleagues through coaching and clear expectations.
- Hold regular performance and development conversations, address challenges proactively and empower colleagues to grow in their roles.
- Build an engaging and inclusive workplace culture by listening to colleague feedback, acting on insights and working collaboratively with the team to turn ideas into meaningful lasting improvements.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication, delivering team briefings, effective 1:1 discussions and open day‑to‑day updates that keep colleagues aligned, informed and motivated.
- Lead the operation confidently during peak demand, change and fluctuating volumes by using strong planning, calm decision‑making and effective organisation to maintain high performance even under pressure.
We’re looking for someone who isn’t just great at managing people but genuinely loves bringing out the best in a team. Here’s what will help you thrive in this role:
- Ideally, you’ve worked in 3PL or multi‑client environments and understand how service levels and client expectations shape a successful operation.
- You’ve already managed or supervised teams in a fast‑paced environment and know how to inspire people to hit operational and productivity targets.
- You’re full of ideas, love sharing knowledge and encourage your team to do the same.
- You create space for feedback, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Hitting targets, meeting client requirements and staying compliant is all part of your rhythm, you know how to get it right the first time.
- You understand the numbers behind the operation, from labour costs to P&L and how everyday decisions can boost (or dent!) site performance.
- You know how crucial health & safety and compliance are in a warehouse environment. Risk awareness, incident management and keeping everyone safe is second nature to you, and you lead by example.
