About the Role
If you’re a dynamic logistics leader with a passion for operational excellence, commercial improvement, and building exceptional teams, this role offers the perfect platform to deliver outstanding quality and customer experience. Here at Advanced Supply Chain, we’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to support the ongoing operational success of our Sheffield site in Chapeltown. This is a full‑time, permanent role, working 40 hours Monday–Friday, offering a competitive salary of £60,000–£70,000 (DOE). Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, people‑focused leadership to the Operations team, ensuring clarity, engagement, and high performance.
- Take full day‑to‑day accountability for all operational direct costs, contributing to the overall P&L performance.
- Oversee planning, production processes, and people utilisation, ensuring they align with company standards and values.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures to support safe, efficient, and consistent operations.
- Lead and support all aspects of people management within the Operations team, including recruitment, onboarding, deployment, performance reviews, training, and adherence to HR standards.
- Maximise operational potential through strong commercial awareness and sound financial decision‑making.
- Proactively identify operational challenges, resolve issues effectively, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
What We Need From You
- Strong functional knowledge of warehousing operations and garment processing environments.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements within warehouse and distribution settings.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, with the ability to apply continuous improvement principles.
- Strong financial acumen, with proven experience in leading teams to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Experience working with bespoke business solutions and supporting operational infrastructure.
- In‑depth knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and leverage data to drive informed, data‑backed decisions.
