Are you a Business Analyst looking to grow your influence and help shape products that really matter? At Advanced Secure Technologies, we are a Cardiff-based technology company on a mission to protect organisations from document fraud. Our secure digital solutions support customers across the legal, financial, and education sectors - helping them reduce risk and operate with confidence.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping, improving, and delivering high-quality products, including software applications, used both internally and by our customers. Working closely with our Director of Product & Customer Experience and Lead Product Manager, you will help turn business needs into clear, actionable requirements that drive product direction and delivery.
This role is ideal for an ambitious mid-level aspiring Business Analyst who wants to make a real impact in a growing business. You will have genuine opportunity to influence product decisions and grow your responsibility as the business evolves.
What you’ll do:
- Capture, analyse, negotiate, and document business and product requirements across our product portfolio.
- Support project initiation activities, including defining goals, high-level requirements, and viability analysis.
- Undertake business process analysis, producing process diagrams and recommending improvements.
- Work with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Sales, Operations, and Leadership to gather and refine requirements.
- Support product backlog management, maintaining epics, features, and user stories.
- Participate in the full product and software development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements.
- Review existing products and propose, prioritise, and document improvement opportunities.
- Communicate with customers where appropriate on product-related analysis and requirements.
- Produce clear, structured, high-quality documentation and maintain requirement traceability using appropriate tools.
What you bring:
- Proven experience or strong capability in business analysis, including requirements elicitation and documentation.
- Experience analysing business processes and translating them into practical requirements.
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working at all levels of a business.
- A structured, analytical approach and the ability to work autonomously when required.
- ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent experience.
- Experience working across the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Exposure to defect management and release management.
- Data analysis, data modelling, or relational database experience.
- Experience using tools to track requirements and delivery such as Target Process, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of project management principles such as Agile or PRINCE2.
- Degree-level education.

Location and hours:
- Onsite at Eastern Business Park, St Mellons, Cardiff, Wales.
- Minimum 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, with up to one hour for lunch.

We are an office-based team because our culture thrives on collaboration, close working relationships, and hands-on support as we grow and evolve our products. While we don’t offer fully remote or fixed hybrid roles, ad hoc home working is supported when life happens.
