At Advanced Secure Technologies, we’re a fast-growing, innovative company on a mission to protect organisations from document fraud through secure digital solutions. Based onsite in St Mellons, Cardiff, we’re expanding our Business Support function and are looking for a Finance Executive to support our day-to-day finance operations as the business continues to scale.
You’ll work closely with experienced internal managers and directors, alongside external accountants, gaining the guidance, structure, and exposure needed to develop your skills across management accounts, budgeting, and year-end processes. As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to grow with it as the lead finance role.
What you’ll do:
- Provide day-to-day finance support across the business, processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Raise customer invoices, process supplier invoices, and support credit control activities.
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Help prepare information to support monthly management accounts, budgeting, VAT returns, and year-end processes.
- Maintain accuracy within the accounting system and ensure financial data is timely, well-organised, and audit-ready.
- Support financial reporting, cash flow tracking, and internal review processes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business and liaise with external accountants.
What you bring:
- Experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally within an SME environment.
- A good understanding of transactional finance processes and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail, good numeracy skills, and a methodical approach.
- Confidence using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, or similar) and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus points for:
- AAT Level 4 or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Experience supporting management accounts, VAT returns, or budgeting processes.
- Exposure to a technology, SaaS, or B2B environment.
- Ambition to progress into a Finance Lead or Finance Manager role.

Location and hours:
Onsite, Eastern Business Park, St Mellons, Cardiff, Wales. Minimum 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with up to one hour for lunch.
Onsite working: We’re an office-based team because our culture thrives on collaboration and hands-on support, particularly as we grow. While we don’t offer fully remote or fixed hybrid working, we’re flexible when life happens — ad hoc home working is always an option.
