We are working with a specialist organisation delivering complex airport, airfield and air traffic systems across the UK and internationally. They are seeking a

Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from design and bid support through installation, commissioning and handover.

The Role

  • Provide technical leadership and line management to the engineering and installation team.
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex airport and airfield systems, including

NAVAIDs, ATC tower systems, meteorological, electrical, communications and civil interfaces .

  • Develop technical solutions, drawings, schematics and cable schedules using

CAD and Microsoft Visio .

  • Act as the primary technical interface for customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Lead commissioning, system integration, testing and site acceptance activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure systems meet operational, contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Support bids, procurement, supplier selection and project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with

ICAO, UK CAA, EASA, CDM, Health & Safety and Quality Management requirements .

  • Mentor engineers and drive engineering best practice and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Degree/HNC in

Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline , or equivalent experience.

  • Strong electrical engineering background with extensive experience in commissioning, testing and troubleshooting complex systems .
  • Strong knowledge of

RF engineering , particularly within ATC systems and navigational aids.

  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong

CAD and Microsoft Visio capability.

  • Knowledge of telecommunications, IT infrastructure and civil engineering interfaces.
  • Experience with site management and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Knowledge of

ICAO, UK CAA, EASA and CDM requirements.

IEng/CEng or working towards professional registration would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a technical leadership role within the aviation and air traffic sector , working on complex, safety-critical projects with significant UK and international exposure.
