I’m currently supporting a leading international shipping organisation in their search for an experienced HSEQ Superintendent to join their London team. This is a key role focused on driving safety, environmental and quality performance across a fleet of vessels, working at the heart of operations.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a vital part in ensuring the effective implementation of HSEQ processes across the fleet, supporting compliance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee vessel audit programmes and safety reporting (incidents, near misses, KPIs)
  • Investigate accidents and support corrective & preventive actions
  • Maintain and develop the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Monitor:
    • Risk assessments & safety reports
    • Environmental performance data
    • Inspection outcomes (SIRE, PSC, Flag, internal audits)
  • Support and maintain compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001/OHSAS)
  • Coordinate emergency response readiness and drills
  • Manage safety reporting, statistics, and management reviews
  • Support TMSA, SMS, and Management of Change processes
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and international offices

About You

  • Experience in an HSEQ / Marine Safety role within shipping
  • Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC and industry standards
  • Background in audits, inspections, and incident investigation
  • Proactive, organised, and detail-driven
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate
