Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker

We are looking for Sheet Metal Workers to join a team of experienced, creative, production trade shipbuilders to help ensure delivering of the very best product possible. This is an exciting time to join the business as it is expanding and transforming and will be operating in a new, innovative, and competitive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing and installing ventilation and furniture
  • Working to engineering standards, striving for quality right first time
  • Using a range of hand tools
  • Applying hand skills for manufacturing and installation purposes
  • Understanding manufacturing and installation drawings

Key Skills:

  • Trade papers, e.g., formal apprenticeship (ability to provide papers)
  • Clear understanding of SHE risks awareness and manufacturing processes
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights

Preferred Skills (not essential):

  • Safety certifications such as SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height, etc.
  • Background in major construction or manufacturing environments

Additional Information:

  • Overtime Pay:
  • Mon – Thurs – 1.33x
  • Friday – Time and a half for the first 4 hours, double time thereafter
  • Saturday – Time and a half
  • Sunday – Double time
  • Shift Patterns:
  • Night Shift – 33% extra
  • Weekend Shift – 33% extra
  • Day shift – Flat Rate
  • Security Level: BPSS clearance required throughout
  • Interview Stage:
  • Trade test on site, taking 1 day with multiple candidates in a group booking. Candidates must provide trade papers.
