Job Description:
A market-leading engineering client specializing in designing, installing, and supporting airside technology worldwide is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their UK team. The role involves leading engineering aspects of project delivery, including on-site work at customer sites in the UK and internationally, site management, developing project design solutions, and procurement of installation materials.
This hands-on role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and customer-facing professionalism.
- Install equipment at customer sites following project design solutions.
- Develop and present project design solutions internally and to customers.
- Assist with specification and procurement of materials and organize the purchase and hire of equipment.
- Undertake site management responsibilities, complying with H&S and CDM regulations.
- Conduct site surveys to understand installation requirements.
- Prepare equipment and materials for shipping and ensure delivery readiness.
- Supervise civil works for compliance with design.
- Manage local labor and supervise subcontractors as needed.
- Create detailed installation drawings and as-built documentation.
- Commission Navaids and Meteorological Equipment.
- Deliver training courses to customers.
Knowledge/Skills required:
- Electronics/Electrical Engineering background.
- Experience in electrical/electronic systems installations.
- Experience working with airports/airside technology.
- Knowledge of construction practices, health and safety standards (SMSTS).
- Knowledge of MS Visio is a plus.
- Working at Height certification is a plus.
- Willingness to travel worldwide on short notice for extended periods.
- Methodical, organized, practical, and self-motivated with a hands-on attitude.
- Effective communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
