We are currently recruiting for a Long Welded Rail Operator to join a specialist track workshop team in Ruislip. The role involves welding rails together to create 90m rail strings, working within a workshop environment and occasionally outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate enclosed rail welding machinery and mechanical equipment
- Weld and join rails to the required specification
- Use a range of mechanical tools and equipment
- Carry out mechanical and electrical tasks as required
- Follow relevant health, safety and engineering procedures
- Work effectively as part of a small team
Requirements
- Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
- Previous welding experience
- Experience using mechanical equipment and tools
- Mechanical and/or electrical experience
- Physically fit to meet the required BTA standard
- Able to work in a workshop and outdoor environment
