URGENT ROLE - REQUIRED START ASAP
Contract Role – 10 Months £70p/h
Hybrid Role – 3 days on site per week at Devonport, Plymouth.
The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Resident Engineer to join a world-leading nuclear defence client based out of Devonport dockyard.
Job Overview: This is a major engineering initiative focused on upgrading a Defence facility in Plymouth, UK, designed to support the Vanguard and future Dreadnought Class submarines. The project has a 10-year timeline and is valued at £1 billion, representing a significant infrastructure development for the UK’s Defence sector.
Some of your duties will include:
- You will be accountable to the Lead Construction Manager for day-to-day planning matters.
- Primary focus will be Civils and M&E activity.
- You will assist the construction and Project team by providing advice and communicating with contractors and relevant internal stakeholders to resolve site issues/Technical Queries during construction in line with contract timescales.
- You will ensure the contractor adheres to the Scope of works and Change requests.
- You will undertake and record inspections to ensure adherence to scope and integrated test plans.
What do you need to succeed?
- You should be degree qualified and/or Chartered in a relevant discipline.
- You must have safely executed relevant Construction works in the past and have an understanding of the nuclear industry and the impact of works against an extant safety case.
- You shall have awareness of CDM, construction practices and health and safety legislation.
- You should have experience delivering within the nuclear licenced site boundary.
- You should be able to demonstrate effective stakeholder management and understand the importance of integrated team delivery.
- Experience in delivering NEC contracts.
