Responsibilities:

  • Taking charge of identifying and managing Product Safety requirements derived from hazard and risk assessments.
  • Collaborating in line with Project Safety Management Plans.
  • Shaping the development of safe design through logical safety arguments, including comprehensive Safety Case justification reports.
  • Facilitating hazard identification meetings and maintaining an up-to-date project hazard log.
  • Conducting peer reviews and performing verification and assurance tasks to validate the robustness of the Safety Case and its supporting documentation.

Experience required:

  • In-depth understanding of engineering safety management processes, including hazard analysis and safety case reports.
  • Solid grasp of safety principles within systems engineering and their integration into effective engineering processes.
  • Proven experience in creating detailed justification reports.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety Engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools and techniques (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect) – Desirable.
  • Experience in a defence or complex systems environment involving software products.
  • Knowledge of JIRA – Desirable.
